Ubuntu Server 21.10 on Raspberry Pi 4 – textual content shows off to the left on

To vary the show decision on Ubuntu Server, you'll need to change your Grub boot loader settings. Fortuitously, it is not too tough.

This is the way you do it:

  1. Hook up with the server (both through SSH or on the machine itself)
  2. Edit the Grub file with sudo:
    sudo {editor of selection} /and many others/default/grub

    Observe: Make sure you substitute {editor of selection} along with your editor of selection.
  3. Add a GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX parameter to the underside of the file with the decision that you want to:
    GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1024x768

  4. Save the file.
  5. Replace Grub:
    sudo update-grub

  6. Reboot.

Relying on the native decision of your TVs, chances are you'll want to regulate the decision to match the show ratio. Ubuntu Server works with 4:3 resolutions by default whereas your 50" shows are seemingly 16:9 or 16:10. This type of factor can create some points relying on the kind of TV you are connecting to.
